On Thursday the 13th of April 2023, Dan was a guest on Spinning Yarns With Sian on Radio One 91FM New Zealand!
Dan has been a senior trekking guide for 17 years in Aotearoa, Australia, Nepal, Bhutan, and Tanzania; he is passionate about sustainability and tiny houses; and is the Founder of the Active Hearts Foundation.
We had a kōrero (chat) about the origins of the Active Hearts Foundation, the seventeen projects they have undertaken so far – including building school libraries and medical centre’s in rural Nepal; their current and future projects; and the Nepalese, who are his second whānau (family).
Dan is a keen surfer, and he lives on the beautiful Aparima/Riverton coast, where the surf is amazing, but the WiFi is choppy. So, please forgive the few brief pockets that his audio was lost.
